What We Do

The key interventions of Integrated Mental Health Initiative – IMI under under the five programmatic areas are;

Program Area 1: Holistic human development and wellness.

  1. Debriefing and transitional support.
  2. Promoting wellness at work places.
  3. Facilitating organizational change management and development.
  4. Facilitating organization capacity assessment and restructuring to meet mental health needs of management and staff.
  5. Supporting mental healthcare capacity development for organizations.
  6. Enabling climate change adaptation and resilience building  for mental health and wellbeing.
  7. Facilitating mental health awareness among affected communities.
  8. Mentoring peer adolescents and vulnerable adults on mental health and wellbeing.
  9. Developing mental health training of mentally-challenged people and caregivers on recovery programmes.

Program Area 2: Trauma prevention and management.

  1. Conducting research on crisis prevention and management.
  2. Promoting lifestyle self-awareness, behaviour change, and change management. Click here to read more.

  4. Developing effective records management systems.
  5. Strengthening monitoring and evaluation systems.
  6. Strengthening communication quality and efficacy on preparedness and best practices in crisis management.
  7. Developing strategic networks and partnership to share information, material supplies, and financial resources to support interventions.

Program Area 3: Quality and affordable mental healthcare services. 

  1. Developing home-based mental healthcare and community outreaches.
  2. Developing capacity of practitioners on a wide range of best practices and quality control measures for prevention, management, and supportive healing.
  3. Sensitizing communities on respective roles and responsibilities towards mental wellbeing.
  4. Advocating for effective mental healthcare policy and guide to beat practices.
  5. Strengthening collaborating among practitioners and mental health support agencies.
  6. Promoting integrated approaches to mental healthcare.
  7. Promoting continuous learning by practitioners, support groups, families, and development agencies.

Program Area 4: Streamlining mental healthcare services

  1. Support reviewing of national policies and community development programs for mental health development.
  2. Mainstreaming mental health across institutional development strategies and policies  every five years.
  3. Promoting mental health through editing and reviewing research and development manuscript that contribute to mental health development.

Program Area 5: Developing potential of vulnerable communities.

  1. Strengthening access to family mental healthcare and wellness services.
  2. Advocating for economic rights, targeted development support, and protection of vulnerable communities.
  3. Promoting entrepreneurship and diversification of income sources among affected communities.
  4. Strengthening support for appropriate education, continuous learning and work culture among affected communities.
  5. Mentoring children and youths (both girls and boys) in constructive age-appropriate activities and productive living.
  6. Promoting mental health literacy for vulnerable individuals, families, and communities.
  7. Promoting access to information materials and sources of support services about available development opportunities for young people to attach, explore, develop careers, and realize their full potential.
  8. Promoting primary healthcare for mental health development.
  9. Support and development of refugees and migrants.

Psychotherapy Consent Form

Sessions on assessments (psychological assessments and organization capacity assessments), psychotherapy, mentoring, training, expert views, manuscript reviews, research support, strategic planning, debriefing, and general inquiries or consulting are on-going on Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
